This year, the event hosted nearly 40 prominent researchers and students from various European countries, providing a valuable opportunity for showcasing scientific achievements and facilitating networking among Iranian scholars.
The scientific segment of the conference featured specialized panels focusing on the challenges and opportunities facing Iran. During the general panel, Iran’s Scientific Attaché to Europe, while outlining the facilities and support measures available to students, stressed the necessity for Iranian elites to present an "accurate and honest narrative" of Iran's scientific progress to international audiences.
In a key session, a comprehensive legal analysis of Iran's position regarding the Strait of Hormuz was presented by a prominent Iranian legal scholar residing in France, which was followed by an engaging Q&A session. Subsequent specialized sessions addressed critical topics, including urban management, the status of groundwater resources in Iran, and the institutional capacities of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran
This year's cultural segment was dedicated to strengthening national bonds. Participants attended a legally authorized gathering in downtown Barcelona to express solidarity with the people of Iran, during which they established a live video connection with the resting place of the martyrs of the Minab school. The symbolic distribution of T-shirts bearing the names of these martyrs served as a testament to the enduring bond between Iranian elites and the ideals of their homeland.
On the sidelines of the conference, the academic delegation visiting Barcelona conducted two separate meetings to explore avenues for scientific cooperation between Iranian universities and Spanish research centers:
* Meeting at CSIC: During a meeting with Professor Francesc Pérez-Murano at the IMB-CNM Institute, affiliated with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), discussions focused on student admission capacities, financial resources, and joint research projects. The Spanish side, acknowledging the high scientific caliber of Iranian students, welcomed their participation in research opportunities.
Additionally, in a meeting with Professor Andrés-Amador García Granada at the IQS School of Engineering, the delegation toured advanced laboratories specializing in materials, additive manufacturing, dynamics, and mechatronics. Both parties reached an agreement on the feasibility of defining joint projects and facilitating academic pathways for Iranian researchers.
